How long you think the job may take?
- ½-Day (4 hrs): Ideal for smaller tasks or touch-ups
- Full-Day (8 hrs): Best for large projects (grading, driveway installs, homesite pads)
Tip: Trenching or light demo often fits a half-day; full grading or pad builds usually need a full day (and sometimes more).

Hourly Rate x Time + Zone/Transport = Base Cost
Example: 1/2 Day trenching in Zone A = $385
($85 x 4 hours + $75= $385)
Step 5. Calculate Material & Total Cost
For driveways or building pads which require new rock, typical material cost run:
- Standard sites: add $1,500+
- Larger sites/Driveways: add $2,500+
Base + Material = Estimated Total Cost
